Founded as a 501c3 (non-profit organization), NYC Swim organizes swimming events in the waters around Manhattan. Since 1993, NYC Swim has attracted well over 10,000 participants in more than 125 swimming races, thus helping to revive a local aquatic tradition that had been abandoned for nearly a century.
Showcasing many of the sights that make New York famous, our premier events are the Liberty Island, Manhattan Island Marathon, Brooklyn Bridge, and Governors Island swims.
In addition, NYC Swim hosts seven other events of various distances in 2010 including a multi-sport race and the Ederle Swim.
